Overview
BMCI provides a wide range of advisory services, the nature and extent of which add value to an organization, whether in the public or private sector, by enhancing its efficiency, effectiveness and corporate governance. In addition to corporate governance and accountability matters, advisory services include areas such as financial management and control, human resources, program and service development and delivery, operational and program performance, risk management and other subjects:
For example, advisory services related to:
- Developing and/or tailoring corporate governance and accountability models and action plans to an individual organization's needs including models which are consistent with Federal government expectations e.g. Management Accountability Frameworks (MAFs), and Risk-based Audit Frameworks (RBAF); and encouraging client and beneficiary participation and commitment to governance and financial management and accountability;
- Developing risk management frameworks consistent with the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Integrated Framework;
- Reviewing and recommending options for organizational restructuring and streamlining;
- Reviewing and advising on decision-making systems and processes to reinforce stewardship and accountability;
- Conducting cost benefit analyses to support investment strategies/decisions;
- Developing strategies and plans to support effective human resource management;
- Developing and implementing client surveys and assessing results/responses;
- Designing and implementation of financial management and control systems, including financial and management reports containing integrated financial and non-financial information;
- Interpreting financial and project management reports, as well as financial statements, comparisons with industry benchmarks and unique circumstances, and recommending appropriate remedial actions;
- Assessing the quality of portfolio/program performance on financial management and control;
- Understanding integrated horizontal issues beyond financial management, such as procurement, governance, accountability and public sector management, at all levels; and,
- Designing, developing and implementing country and/or sector level financial management capacity building initiatives.
