BMCI Code of Ethics

Each of BMCI's consultants and investigators belong to one or more accounting, auditing, investigation or other professional associations and they adhere to the code(s) of ethics of those associations. BMCI consultants and investigators are also expected to adhere to the following BMCI Code of Ethics which complements those of the associations to which they belong.

Code of Ethics

BMCI employees, consultants and investigators are expected to:

  • Maintain the highest principles of honesty, integrity, professionalism and excellence.
  • Provide services commensurate with monies received and to the full satisfaction of the client.
  • Respect and protect the property and sensitive information entrusted to BMCI by its clients.
  • Use the time and resources allocated to an assignment only for legitimate purposes to accomplish work objectives.
  • Provide opinions based on complete, accurate and substantiated information.
  • Participate only in ethical and legal activities, and when in doubt, seek counsel.
  • Demonstrate respect with regard to competitors' services.
  • Assist colleague consultants, where possible, and to act in a manner that will bring credit to BMCI.

Client Codes of Conduct

BMCI consultants and investigators will comply with client codes of conduct where they do not conflict with other codes of legal and ethical behaviour. For example, when working with clients in the federal government, BMCI consultants and investigators would adhere to the principles outlined in the Statement of Public Service Values and Ethics.
